Dream success for students

Performing Arts students from the South Holland Post 16 Centre put on a modern version of Shakespeare’s most famous comedy at the South Holland Centre. Dream Nights faithfully followed the story of A Midsummer Night’s Dream but was packed with classic 1970’s songs to make it appeal to audiences of all ages.  YMCA, I Will Survive, Somebody To Love and Tragedy are just a few of the songs featured. Post 16 Performing Arts tutor Darren Maddison was thrilled with the students. He said: “They have all worked incredibly hard to bring this musical to life and in addition to their performance each student has taken on key production roles to ensure that every aspect of the show was covered.  “Dream Nights is a light-hearted comedy and the songs weaved seamlessly into the storyline.” The cast of the show are pictured above ready to take to the stage.

60 years of wedded bliss

A Long Sutton couple are celebrating 60 years of wedded bliss. Josie and Geoff Godfrey, who have two children, four grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, were joined by family and friends to celebrate.  Instead of asking for gifts, the couple requested donations to the coronary care unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn. They are pictured holding the card they received from the Queen.
